A Picture perfect day in Stockholm
At the stunning waterfront of Stockholm, Fotografiska beckons you for a rendezvous with photography. It’s a Swedish Museum that showcases contemporary photography. Although it’s a haven for photography enthusiasts, it is also a great place for those who have got nothing to do with it. There is so much more for the visitors to explore at the museum.
Fotografiska conducts four grand exhibitions and around 20 small exhibitions each year. The venue has large spaces, which are used for various purposes, such as events, conferences and live music shows. It would not be wrong to call it a melting-pot of art and culture, where a variety of talents are mingled and celebrated.
Well, it goes beyond just photo exhibitions at Fotografiska. If you love the art, you can get inspiration and hone your skills. You can take part in the photography lectures, workshops and courses offered by the top photographers.
Bistro, bookshop and souvenirs
Besides admiring some great photographs, you can enjoy coffee-sipping and bar lounging time at Fotografiska, and not to mention, check out the top floor bistro from where you can catch gorgeous views of the islands. If you love to read, do spend some time at the bookshop, and if you would just like to pick a cute memento for memory, there is also a lovely souvenir shop for you.
Dance and music
You will be delighted to know that Fotografiska turns into a scintillating dance floor on some evenings. Renowned DJs from Berlin, New Jersey, Oslo and Brooklyn visit the museum on certain occasions to get the party going. Thursdays and Saturdays are marked for live music, when you can simply relax, enjoy some refreshments and drinks from the bar, and let the music invigorate your senses.
Fotografiska definitely offers more than you can envisage. There is something called Breakfast seminar that takes place for business networking and meetings. People enjoy breakfast with a view of the beautiful Salt Lake.
Last but certainly not the least, Fotografiska hosts coffee tasting for its guests. There cannot be a better chance to learn about coffee. They give you insights on coffee growing methods, harvesting and brewing. Then you get to taste a variety of flavours and learn to recognise different coffees.
Fotografiska is a fabulous place to revel in the visual art and also savour Stockholm’s amazing landscape beauty.
